This month I’ll be starting my new practice area, yoga. I intend to participate in three bikram yoga classes each week. I practice at Yoga Energi in Denver. The bikram (hot yoga) sessions are 90 minutes long. The instructors are amazing! I have been encouraged to modify and adjust the poses for my own “unique” body structure. I’m the only fat person in these classes.
For me, my practice requires only that I go to the class. If I’m not feeling well or have an injury, I just sit in the back of the room on my yoga mat. This is a lifelong practice that I am engaging in, and there’s no rush at all. I feel great after my classes and am excited to have so many new friends on my well being journey.
