I’ve managed to remain at about 90% vegan with about 75% of that being raw. I haven’t paid very much attention to calorie or fat intake, as I’m adding one discipline at a time. Exercise will be next!

I’d like my blood sugar to be below 100 for two weeks before I start my juice feast in the spring. We’ll see if I’m able to do that.

I am very pleased that my weight has gone up only 7.4 pounds in 15 months of ignoring my exercise and diet. I am truly amazed. Even though I didn’t feel my clothes get any tighter during that time, I was certain that I was way off track.

Juice Feast Day 8

How cool is that? I love the results I get when I’m juice feasting! I have had such great support from my raw food buddies and the experts who have blazed the trail before me. How lost I would be without their knowledge and guidance.

One of my raw food heroes is Angela Stokes. Angela shed 160 pounds after starting her raw food adventure. She was featured in a recent CNN story on raw food and weight loss:
Read CNN Story, or Watch CNN Video.

Angela has made her weight loss program available to others for a very short time through this offer, which expires on Friday. It would be great to have you join me in designing a new body through Angela’s experience and wisdom.

You can also become an affiliate and share Angela’s program with others, but you’ll have to act fast. Just click on the link at the top of the page. Find out more…

Clicking the graphic above will take you to Angela’s home page. You can buy her book here:

Today was my first day of a six week juice feast. It was amazingly easy today. I had six quarts of juice: two quarts of apple and greens (celery & romaine), two quarts of carrot and greens, and two quarts of tomato, red bell pepper and lemon. I added some Vitamineral Green, maca powder, bee pollen and some B-12 to one of the quarts early in the day.

A lot has happened during the past five months. I am still raw, although I have not been 100% raw the whole time. I look forward to sharing my experiences during the past months, and I am relieved to be blogging again.

As my back is feeling much better, I think I’ll start walking on April 1st. On April 1st we’ll start offering the opportunity to sponsor the blog. If you have a raw product or raw-related service, you’ll be a welcome sponsor here. You can also expect to see fitness and general wellness-related sponsors on the blog. This is a very exciting transition.

I added MSM to my daily regimen. Gina, from the Aurora rawlucks, recommended it. Perhaps that will help prevent any pain once I start my walking regimen. I will start walking again once my back is 100%. I’ve started walking programs in the past when my back was not 100% and only ended up re-injuring myself.
Now this is simply amazing. I have been doing very little in the way of exercise, as I am barely able to walk, let alone be a pretzel or walk three miles. I’ve been sitting in front of my computer most days, and yet I lost eleven pounds in the last week. Maybe the back pain has been suppressing my appetite. I don’t know. What I do know is that I’m pleased with the weight loss, and look forward to being able to exercise again.

Last night I poured off the last of the rejuvelac from my first batch and it is as tasty as everyone has said. It has a unique flavor, kind of lemony, kind of fizzy, kind of grainy. When a drink it with a little agave nectar, it tastes even more delicious. I will blend up the leftover sprouts and put them into my next batch of crackers. We’ll see how that goes.

I tossed out probably fifteen pounds of “expired” supplements, cleanses and the like today. I’d been collecting them over the years as I visited different experts about how to be healthy, each one recommending a different preparation or concoction. I’m enjoying getting most of what I need from whole foods, rather than supplementing with so many other things. Now I have more room for all of my yummy raw food in the cupboard!
