My Living Food Kitchen

tiny kitchen

I was just noticing this morning how many gallons of living food are vying for space in our TINY kitchen.

There are five half-gallon jars of kim chee on one counter, three half-gallon jars of mung bean sprouts on another, and one half-gallon jar of kombucha brewing. There are several bottles of kombucha “aging” on top of the fridge, too!

That’s a lot of living happening in one place, nearly five gallons! I know that it’s well worth giving up the precious space. It means that I’m getting the very best of nutrition. Food can’t get more “living” than when you grow it yourself.

It has been a lot of fun adding these living foods to my kitchen and to my diet. What other living foods to you have growing in your kitchen? Inquiring minds want to know!

Your kitchen looks and sounds great. I love walking in mine and seeing all the fruit on the counter and smelling the last juice that I made. Opening the fridge is awesome too…all the colorful stuff jumping out at me and the bags full of leafy greens staying fresh. Raw living kitchens are awesome.

I was just about to say that I didn’t have anything growing in my kitchen…but I do!

I have a little basil plant growing. Yay! As it gets warmer in the evenings here in Southern California, I’ll transfer it outside so it can take over a little area and make lots of leaves. In the meantime, it’s too chilly for it to survive, so I’m nurturing it indoors.

I brought the love of living green things into my bedroom last week by buying some great plants at Home Depot. I love being surrounded by green. And life.

Glad to find your blog tonight. I found it through @Genesisone29′s list of raw food #followfriday people.
