Righteously Raw Chocolate – Simply Amazing!

by thubten on May 31, 2010

I recently had the great pleasure of encountering Daniel of Righteously Raw at a Whole Foods market here in Portland. Daniel is traveling the western United States, sharing the delicious experience of truly raw cacao with those lucky enough to enter the store on demo day.

Daniel shared with me the four varieties of raw vegan chocolate that Righteously Raw is currently making available. Each chocolate bar is filled with a different delicious and nutritious substance. The varieties are goji berry, acai berry, maca and caramel.

I tried the goji berry chocolate first. I’m a big fan of goji berries, and know that they are very good for me. They’re not very sweet, but are flavorful, and this goji berry bar did not disappoint.
The acai berry bar was my second to try. I’ve had acai berry, but just in juice blends, not the actual berries before. The flavor was rich and dark, like the chocolate.
I’ve had maca as a superfood supplement, something I often add to my green smoothies in the morning. Maca has an unmistakable flavor, one that reminds me of the malted milk I drank when I was a kid.
My favorite of all four bars is the caramel. I have an insane sweet tooth, and the caramel bar melted in my mouth like my favorite candy bar of my youth, the Caramelo. The great news for me is that this chocolate bar is 100% raw, 100% vegan, and 100% good for you!

Naked Chocolate author and recognized raw cacao aficionado, David Wolfe has endorsed these amazing products. I’m not anything close to an aficionado, but I endorse these products, too!

The best news of all is the very reasonable pricing on Righteously Raw bars. Obviously the prices will vary depending on the retail outlet, but the overall pricing I’ve seen has been a lot less than other 100% raw vegan cacao bars.

Update: In the interest of full disclosure, after I first wrote this blog post, Earth Source Organics, the owner of the Righteously Raw brand, retained my social media services.

Glad you liked our chocolate so much! I will keep in touch with you as the demo tour road trip continues, I should be in various Whole Foods around Seattle next weekend, followed by Colorado and New Mexico and who knows where next.
